As seen on the home page I plan to run a dating experiment to try and answer some common questions from the web site visitors.  This is where you can submit your questions by replying on this thread.  Here are some example questions:

  • Is height and weight really important?
  • Do perfectly good relationships fail due to poor communication?
  • Is their a scientific way to find a perfect match?

Or any question you want the experiment to answer.

Here is a copy of the information on the home page, just to re-emphasize the plan:

Once the forums are buzzing with activity I aim to start a dating research experiment.  The aim of the experiment will be to help you with your dating questions.  The research will then be published on this web site after the experiment.

1) Before the experiment takes place I will start a forum thread asking people what questions they would like to find out during the research.

2) In another thread I will be looking for volunteers to register their interest in taking part in the experiment.  The benefits are, you will have advance access to the research before it's published on the web site.  You WON'T have to pay to take part in the experiment and you could end up meeting someone you really like.  Matchmaking services might charge hundreds or thousands of pounds for this sort of handpicked service, but this is a free web site to help people and it requires volunteers like you.

3)  The experiment will involve me matching up Volunteer Daters with certain criteria, the criteria will depend on what questions have been asked in note 1 above.  The volunteers will NOT find out what criteria they have been matched on and will NOT see the other persons profile.  It's up to them to get to know the other person, much like they would if meeting someone in a bar.

4)  Once I put you in touch with your potential match, I will ask you to keep an online diary of your interactions with this person.  Only I will be able to see these interactions and they will form the basis of my research.  You can swear or say anything about the other person in your diary. What it should contain is your true feelings about the other person from the very start to hopefully the point where you fall in love or less optimistically the reason you split up.  If you do split up then you can let me know and I will match you up with someone else, this time I may take into account the type of person you had last time and what you didn't like about them and adjust the criteria accordingly.

5)  You will get to see the published research which as a Volunteer Dater, you will see before it's published to the rest of the web site visitors.  Hopefully you will be madly in love with the person you met by now. If you don't find the right person, hopefully the research results will provide you with the help you need to find the right person.  Whilst you'll never get to see the private diary entries of the other person you were dating, you will get to see a collective research which aims to answer as many questions as possible in the experiment.

I'd ask:

They say opposites attract, but people I have been deeply attracted to on a spiritual level I have found share many of my values, morals, goals, almost an opposite gender version of me..

so which do men like.. opposite or complimentary to them?
